Gerrit De Vylder is professor of International Political Economy & Economic History a the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies, Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. After finishing MA-studies in Leuven and Gent Universities, he obtained his PhD  from Tilburg University in The Netherlands. He is currently working on the history of globalization (an Asia-centric point of view), on the relationship between religion (Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Christianity) and economics/business, and between Orientalist literature and economics/business.
